I have been a fan of Regina for a while... She is amazing. I grew up listening to Janis, Jimi, and even Elton John. They all did drugs. They were amazing and some of the things Regina says, i just dont even know... She could just be eccentric, but i heard a rumor she does do drugs. I was just wondering. she has the hotel song that mentions cocaine, that time that says "i was on a lot of shit to and man it was freaky". This could be her way of sarcasm like in consequence of sounds where she says "all this hippy shits for the 60s and a cliche in our time" maybe she doesnt do drugs because its cliche? And her songs are pretty random as she says in an interview that she just picks things she sees and writes songs using them. I dont know... just get back to me. I am curious if anyone has found anything on that matter.

well if you ask the average adult if theyve done drugs , about 84A% of the toime they say yes. im sure she has done drugs once but i mean she has enough inspiration herself i think... i mean drugs do damge to your cells, brain, alvoli which help you inhale and hold out amazing reg notes so i doubt she is on drugs. drugs can damage your coordination systems so how can you play a piano when you are baked? and besides, drugs give undesired facial features (puffy eyes, yellow eyes, etc etc). look at reg's face. is there anything you dont want there?? so you decide. i say no myself.

All I know is she used to smoke and now she doesn't. *shrug* But I highly doubt she does...anything else.

As far as your reference to Hotel Song and That Time, reg has stated on more than one occasion that her songs are not autobiographical.

I was at a show where reg asked the audience, "Are there any law enforcement officers here?" Upon getting no response from the audience she said, "Good, would you people over there stop smoking pot please. It's bothering me."

You draw your own conclusion.

Wasn't there a video where she messed up on "That Time" and said she was "gonna blame the weed smoker"?

I don't think the drug references in her songs are being drawn from personal her personal use. However I agree with Wonder Bread, it is more than likely she has tried them before.

It is easy to think sometimes that she had to have been on something when she came up with such crazy lyrics, but I think that's just the kind of creative mind she has. She is a very rare talent.

These side effects have not stopped many musicians from doing drugs (LOTS OF THEM) and they still have produced amazing things (i.e. Bob Dylan, The Beatles, etc, etc...)

I think she probably isn't on drugs on a regular basis. She wouldn't be quite so amazing. But it is funny that on the one song of hers that seems the most autobiographical (Dusseldorf) she talks about hash in Amsterdam. Of course, in the context I guess she isn't necessarily implying that she was the smoker...

yea. well my personal opinion (which is all anyone can gve on here) is that reg no longer does drugs. we know that he used to smoke cigs. and we know that she drinks (we dont know tho, if shes the kinda girl who drinks till she passes out, or just likes to have a drink for leisure)

come on tho. i know reg looks like an angel, but she sure as hell doesnt talk like one so???? you be the judge? living in the bronx probly exposed her to many things that arent quite angelic at a pretty young age im supposing so..... pretty much who cares if its ancient history.

Everyone smokes a little weed in college... So I bet she has, plus most great writters and musisians have tried drugs at some point in their lives - it can bring out the best in a person sometimes and inspire great art... So I hear anyway.
Also drugs are such a huge issue in our culture, I would be shocked if Regina didn't aproach the topic in her music.

I certainly hope Regina does drugs because if she doesn't I will feel left out. Drugs are fantastic.

HOWEVER, my impression of her has always been that she does not do any drugs. She quit smoking, after all.

I don't think regina would necessarily be offended that people are speculating whether she does drugs, she'd probably be amused; she's pretty private though and probably wants to keep us guessing

i dont think, howver, that her music is directly effected by them.

most of her songs are somewhat lucid, and as a pseudo-musician/writer, i can admit to writing things sometimes that would make no sense to anyone else.

so just let her toenails change like leaves of fall.. jeeeeez

well. i dont think she would be offended at all. i mean. she seems like a person who is sound with her past decisions and doesnt regret what shes done. if she used to do drug so what? if she still does drugs so what? (as long as we dont have our own personal amy winehouse on our hands i could give a shit less if she enjoyed herself from time to time) the only way i can see her being mad is if she detests drugs and is appauled that we would ever speculate her useing them... which i dont see as very likely because at bonnaroo as soon as she got ofstage you could see someone handed her a beer. she seems pretty loose about substance usage, and its not like any of us know for sure so what is the harm. personally i dont thin regina reads the stix anymore, and even if she did i think she would be laughing especially at might make a dollars comment haha. and yea i agree that her songs with the drug accounts in them arent personal (maybe because i would never like to think of regina doing hard drugs like cocaine) but who knows maybe she dabbled, maybe she stopped at cigs and alcohol.. the point is no one really knows but its all intresting to share our oppinion in a time of a very dead forum. so.... there.
