Check this out, 2 tickets for Chicago's Riviera Theatre, $202! This same person has another pair at $225, with 3 days yet to go on the auction. I hate scalpers, but it's interesting to see what people are willing to pay to see thier favorite artists.

Since people were competitively bidding I can't really get mad at the seller. It all depends on what they originally set the price at I guess. Either way its ridiculous that people have/choose to pay so much to see any musician and that is actually in the low price range for second hand tickets. Usually you are looking at paying that much or more for one ticket.

You ain't kidding. I've had to pay up to entertain clients in the past. Those are still cheap. But I do see Dan's point. 2 years ago no one would have paid that much, well except me, for purely entertaining purposes. Wink

It's seems weird to pay that much for a Regina show when her original price for tickets is no more than $25

I remember the show she was playing at Cane's in San Diego just last November was $15!!!!

And it wasn't even sold out the day of the show...and it was a bar...so anyone could just be like...hmm, I feel like seeing this chick's gig tonight *whip out wallet, give $15*

It's incredible.

I think her tickets are going to bring a pretty big amount in resale for some time to come, as she will most likely never be playing arena's but 1-2,000 seat venues, where tickets might be scarce. Tori Amos tickets still go for $200 or more for good seats.

Any time an artist plays a seated venue the good seats get scarfed up by the scummy scalpers who are good at getting the prime seats and then reselling at a higher price.

I think that is why we are seeing Regina's tickets being resold.

Any Bjork fans from the NY are were witness to the scalping fiasco last weekend!

I totally disagree. I think regina's way of annoucing pre-sales through this site helps to nip a lot of that in the bud. I was surrounded, in the first row at Purchase, by mostly good people who didn't pay up and they were all on this board or with someone who was. It was amazing. I've never had first row for anyone. Unless of course I paid through the nose as you are saying.

Of course as time goes on and she becomes more popular this will probably change as the scum scalpers catch on. But let's enjoy it for now! Cool

Please don't be so hard on the scalpers; I'm counting on kissing ones' ass to get a ticket for the Savannah show.

The reason why we were sitting up in the front with fans (I am pretty sure I was next to you) is because Purchase doesn't use Ticketmaster so this one got by the scaplers. I also think that many of the tickets were sold directly to students from the box office so they never even got online.

I guess that may have contributed to the great location. But I was in the 5th row at Town Hall from the presale and that one used Ticketmaster.

I'm not saying it stops the scalper but it at least gives us a shot which you don't get at all without the presale. I get frustrated when TicketMaster says sales start at 10AM, you're online and ready to go, and you get Row Z Mad

If you were next to me you saw red carnations!
