"Ballad of a Politician" might be "Carefully Laid Plans". I've been thinking it could be about a politician or how huge pop stars are made. Or both.. haha. I hope it's new though! That would be awesome.

Okay, well I didnt do my chores really, didnt do a paper, the grades showed up on parent portal where my parents check them, and I was messing around in sixth hour and the teacher emailed my stepdad.......the only thing that has gotten me through these two in a half weeks of hell have been Regina's music.

Is "Ballad of a Politician" what Regina called it? I updated it on RSO for now since it seems that way.

...Spektor’s accompaniment consisted of a recognizable violinist (K Ishibashi from Jupiter One), a cellist, and a set drummer. The strings added compelling texture to the arrangement, especially for otherwise flat, electro-laden studio tracks like "Machine." Though the touch of Sgt. Pepper brass that’s sprinkled throughout Far was certainly missed (especially during "Two Birds"), the band managed to fill the hall with rich sound, perfectly accenting Spektor’s vocals...

Wow. Great. Another reviewer (who needs to be kicked) is more interested in vocabulary than Regina. Roll Eyes

At the album's nadir, she sounds like a dolphin, apparently on purpose. But in concert, her breathy, stretchy voice and dexterous playing sure sold new songs like "Folding Chair" and especially circa-2004 oldies like the sublime "Us," their spell frequently punctuated by shrieks of "I love you, Regina!"

Such cultish adulation is inevitable: Spektor is 29, but she has a blushing demeanor and childlike speaking voice that seem to stir a protective impulse in anyone inclined find those lyrics lousy with profundity, rather than plain lousy.

I love you, that's why I'm here.
