So I bought tickets this morning the SECOND they went on sale. I sat there for five minutes before hand spamming refresh on my screen until they came up. I got three tickets in row "T" section two. I was pretty disappointed but figured oh well. So I check the site just now (8 hours later) to see if they are sold out and there are seats in the same section in row "K" which is like twice as close. The concertmaps site has almost no information on it and the hotline is closed. I will call in the morning but I could just about cry. I was so wanting a seat as close as possible. Is it possible that they just start selling seats in the middle or something like how some people want seats at the movie theater in the middle?

Sites such as ticketmaster release tickets randomly. Sometimes if you go online two days before the show, even if you were told for weeks that the show is sold out, they will release good tickets last minute. It's a bitch. My suggestion is this: when you get to the venue day of the show, ask them if they can exchange your tickets for some better seats. Many venues will do this, especially if those last minute release seats didn't sell out. Good luck. ~~~~~~~ God, I pity the violins In glass coffins They keep coughing They've forgotten, forgotten how to sing |

Thank you for your suggestion. I will try that and if that doesn't work I may try to buy some tickets off of Craigslist or something. I will be happy either way and the seats aren't "that" bad (about 50 feet back from the stage) but I saw here eighth row last time and was hoping for even closer this time.

Well I called and left a message first thing here (which is three hours earlier than where they are in New York). I have been doing some reading and hearing all sorts of horror stories of people not getting their tickets until a week or more after the show. Any place of business that has an answering machine and no other means of contact (like email or a physical address) scares me. I have used them successfully before but why would Regina's management even deal with such a small and/or dubious operation?

josefgabriel-
How are you doing? I have used them many times and have yet to ever have an issue with timely delivery relative to the actual show date. As far as using a smaller company I can tell you why. If ticketmaster was involved you would have a convenience fee, a facility fee, a your-momma-fee, a fee-for-the-fee fee. Tickets are distributed in this way in an attempt to help reg's staunchest fans not only obtain tickets, but to get decent tickets at a decent price. Clearly you have an issue as I get the same results trying the presale now. Row M. What may have happened is that when you went in a bunch of people were online holding tickets and then never purchased them. Ever notice that, "these tickets will be held for X minutes" disclaimer on these ticket sites? I doubt there was any malicious intent. I would suggest calling them again (even if you left a message) until you get a live voice. I have called them in the past too and again, been treated very well. Be careful to explain your situation calmly as you don't want to put the person on the defensive. I hope this gets resolved to your liking. _______________________________________________________________ Founding Member of Reginka's Anonymous - Я люблю Вас, Регина! |

Thanks Andreseng. I am doing pretty good. Very excited to see her again and this time at the nicer of the two sister theaters, the Paramount. I will keep calling then. As it is I had a $7.50 fee but really I care much more about the view than the ticket price. This is of course of utmost importance to me and I would rather not support scalpers who take the good seats anyway. When radio stations get front row seats and raffle them off that also pisses me off. Nobody should get priority. Me and my ex wife camped out for almost two weeks for star wars and they had a section roped off for radio station winners. Everyone who camped out the whole time was like screw that! and proceeded to get in the seats and not move.

Just an update. They did call me back and they were very nice. He said buy three more tickets that are available and he would refund the first three. So I did. I am out an extra hundred something dollars until I get the refund but moved from row "T" to row "M" although I am not dead center any more. If I would have done this last night I could have had row "J". I will still keep my eyes open for any row "A" or "B" seats for sale on craigslist but I hate dealing with scalpers and row 13 isn't bad. Sometimes people do buy tickets with good intentions though and have to cancel their plans. Really there isn't a bad seat in the house unless you at the back of the balcony or something.

Well I broke down and bought two tickets off of ebay. I was pretty weary of doing so but the seller has like 3000 positive feedback from sellers and not one negative. They are second row dead center. I am considering selling the ones I have but part of me wants to keep them "just in case" something happens. I am also going from three tickets to two so only one of my friends can go but I am practically dragging them there as it is. Last time (as you will remember andreseng) I bought two tickets and couldn't get rid of the other one for the life of me. Ended up selling it (at face value) to a very nice girl who was out in front of the venue wanting a ticket who enjoyed the show and other than her screaming the entire time (I was recording it with a pretty high end digital recorder) it was perfect. And while I am thinking about it, is the recording on respektonline the one I made or does anybody know?

Leon did you find tickets? I still have my original three I bought directly through Concertmaps. I want to make absolutely sure that the tickets I bought off eBay are valid and the box office said the only way to do that would be to get them scanned when the doors open at seven. I figure once I am seated or scanned or whatever I would feel comfortable letting the other tickets go. I have been holding on to them as insurance "just in case" something happened with the eBay ones. The lady at the box office said it is entirely up to security if there are in and out privileges and they don't make that decision until just before the show but she said for Regina there probably would be. If I am going to give up my extra tickets I would like for a Stixer to have first shot at them. If not I did see someone on Craigslist who is disabled and can't sit in the mezzanine (only seats left) because there aren't any elevators. One of my farther back seats (and one of my second row seats) happen to be on the end of a row and the seats are removable.

Kimya Dawson's account of this show. From Twitter
"Going to miss choir again. Didn't realize Regina is playing in Seattle tonight and me and Panda need to go give and get some hugs! I felt super inspired by Regina's ballsiness. Have you seen that girl's balls? They are enormous. Giant balls of love. Halleluia is right. and it was me who ran to the front and lifted the little girl with flowers onto the stage. and who was dancing like crazy in my seat next to Nadgia- who was the only person standing up and dancing Regina's show tonight was one of the best shows I have ever seen. Yes that was me that yelled "BIRTHDAY SUIT" at the opening band" clouds-foretellers of weather (and thus, the future...) |
