I actually went to Church yesterday morning, having enjoyed Regina's remarkably incisive song "Laughing With" and just loving the video;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rov3pV9PsRI

I walked up to the village of Maresfield and popped into St Bartholomew's Church, Church of England, part of the way through an early morning Communion Service. Smiler

I have never partaken of The Bread & Wine, mainly on three counts;

1. I never got confirmed.
2. I can't grasp eating a body & drinking blood!
3. I don't like sharing a "Cup" with Strangers.

I was moved by parts of the service, however, and enjoyed the ambience. Roll Eyes

I do not Laugh at God, but organised Religion leaves me very confused! Confused

i like this post, it made me smile for some reason. Smiler love the last picture of the flowers.

organized religion leaves me very confused as well. but really just the idea of god in general.
i actually was just having a conversation about this:

"i definitely don't believe in organized religion. but i find it very hard to believe that everything is just here without some sort of higher power. but then i start to think about it and the idea of a god seems so silly, and the whole chicken and the egg thing is overwhelming, so i don't know."

definitely confusing Confused

I found that movie to be incredibly frightening when I first saw it on the disney channel when i was like 5 or something, and I haven't had the chance to watch it since. I'n sure it's good though.

The Dalai Lama said,

"This is my simple religion.
There is no need for temples;
No need for complicated philosophy.
Our own brain,
Our own heart is our temple;
The philosophy is Kindness."

I go along with that statement. Wink

personally, i'm confused by catholic services, too, but my (non-denominational) church is quite straightforward about how and why we do things the way we do. Wink

i thought hocus pocus was scary as crap when i was a kid! My cousin resorted to showing me Hocus Pocus when i refused to watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer! *shivers*
