I'm seeing Far videos being linked to by prominent blogs in the last few days, this is exciting.

Over here in the UK the BBC are being relatively kind to Regina, with pretty good Glastonbury Coverage yesterday. Smiler

Also I heard "The Calculation" again on BBC Radio 2 earlier this morning and just learned that this song is now on the Radio 2 Playlist, albeit on the B-List at present. Wink

The principal of my school told me yesterday, "I bought that new Regina Spektor album you told me about last month.... It's really good!"

Man, I grew up in B'klyn. I swear, we always seemed to be in school way past everyone else. Are you guys done now? And an "A+" for nailing a senior member of the administration!!

Yeah that's "to be expected" for a while.

Outside of Michael Jackson's albums, Far would now be #2 on Amazon, #2 on US iTunes, #1 on Swedish iTunes and #3 on Canadian iTunes. And in the Netherlands she isn't even in the top 100 Frowner

But I'm pretty surprised that it's so populair. When I first heard the album with my sister we both agreed that Far still isn't mainstream, so it really surprised me when I saw how popular Far is in other countries.

I've never heard her on the radio here in NY. Ever. I wouldn't know about her if not for Last.fm

Yeah, we've been "out of school" since the 12th, but we've had those damned Regent exams until the 24th!!! I got my report card yesterday, and the public school seniors graduated yesterday as well. Nothing like waiting until last minute, I guess. (I'm private school, and the seniors here graduated the 7th.. haha)

I miss Last.fm...I deleted my account after the RIAA incident. Not that I have anything to hide, besides I don't live in US so RIAA has no power over me, I did it entirely out of principle. Last.fm disabled its radio (for US only) and set up paid membership. I loved the old last.fm and I miss it but the way they act now is unacceptable.

Why should copyrighted song be free to listen to? The artist deserves compensation. The label that funded the album also deserves to be compensated.
