The Calculation... definately. It's already doing way better than Laughing With/Blue Lips. It's one of the most pop-sounding, radio-friendly songs she's ever wrote! Not saying that's a bad thing, just saying... it's what sells

I agree
I think they're going to choose "The Calculation" for different reasons. Probably because: it's upbeat and Laughing With isn't, it's catchy, radio-friendly, and there's a web video of her playing it for GMA too.

I agree that would be a smart decision. but I would love it to be dance anthem if it has to be another upbeat song, if not than HUMAN OF THE YEAR. They song should be required on everyones bucket list!!

Why not "man of a thousand Faces" just as something completely different to everything out there in the singles market?

But actually I'm thinking "Machine" is a very likely single.

Completely agree, it's going to be Calculation. It's perfect for a single.
Also, my personal choice would be a single with "All the row-boats" - one of my favorite songs.

... though, if we're going w/ a theme of up-beat songs.. I'll have to add Folding Chair as a suggestion.
It was the song I was most excited to hear on Far, and though it sounds nothing like any live recording of it, it became radio-friendly and summer-single-ready haha

*holy crap, just realized I hit 100 posts haha*

The Calculation could definitely get some radio play, but I think they should push Eet. It has a video but isn't really a single, and it's my favorite of the *new* songs on the record. Smiler

The Calculation. It is very cute and I think it would do well with the masses. and that's a good thing because it's still very regina

"So we made our own computer out of macaroni pieces
And it did our thinking while we lived our lives"

I mean, come on! can you get cuter than that?!?

The Calculation. maybe Eet? That song is catchy.

I'm trying not to think it is but I don't think Laughing With is the best single choice. Excellent song but too much for a first listener to really want to dabble into her music. Just my opinion.

When I heard Fidelity, I went online and searched for Regina Spektor than fell in love with ALL her music., I'm not sure I would have done the same with Laughing With which is sad. idk just me.

Total agreement with both ya'll... as soon as I

put in my sparkling new CD the first two tracks

said "Regina" and "VH1" in quick succession.

Got a heart for Dance Anthem with its' '80's

B-52's vibe.
Machine, Man of..., a little dreary but necessary on a Reg album.

Love it... Commercial? My ass. CD exactly what

the doctor ordered.

The Calculation
Then Folding Chair
Then Dance Anthem of the 80s
hopefully some of the old live-only favourites will pop up as b-sides or maybe they might put 'ink stains' as a b-side.
would love:
Folding Chair/Aquarius
Dance Anthem of the 80s/The Bronx/Happy Hooker

Lol...

I would choose Eet... It seems like the obvious pick to me. But The Calculation is selling well on iTunes, so I wouldn't be surprised to hear it on the radio.
