This is a place to post those strange things that happen. You know, like when you talk about someone who you haven't seen or talked about in years and then 2 minutes later they walk right by you... Odd things like that. Or those days which seem to have a clear theme to them?

Have you been touched by an angel, seen a UFO, saved a life, an extremely odd dream?? haha you get the deal.

So I go to UNCG and during the first week I met a girl named Rosie Samad. We're friends on facebook and of course lotsa my status(es?) are regina related and I uploaded pics of my Regina Shirt on facebook too. (Basicaly if you remotely know me then you know my obsession with regina) Today, I was walking back to campus with some friends (I don't usually walk on this street during the day) and when I was about back at my dorm Rosie came up to me and told me....

That she was in the car with her younger brother, on the way back to campus (I think she went home this weekend?) talking about how she knew a girl named alicia who was also obsessed with regina like he was. She mentioned the shirt and he said wait I think I know her, she's on the forums! And then they drove by me! And she pointed me out to him. What on earth are those chances? Me walking on that street, them driving on that street, them mentioning me, them seeing me? Crazy!

Anyways IT WAS HFLAbob!!! a fellow stixer! Jaraad!

I really couldn't believe it, who knew a fellow stixer was only 2 degrees of seperation away from me?? Hello Jaraad! Big Grin

This is an extremely well-thought-out idea for a topic; I feel that it shall prove deeply interesting and a long-lasting source of entertainment for all!

As a Lost fan, I have cultivated a special interest in all the trappings of fate. I believe that everything happens for a reason, even when that reason isn't obvious or seems altogether completely out of reach.

I believe that I was brought here for a reason, for starters--don't you think that it's a bit much of a coincidence that I just so happened to discover at least three other active North Carolinian Regina fans on this single forum? I wouldn't think much of this, if it were merely a question of a bunch of people from the same state having a shared musical interest...but we don't just happen to all like a particular artist, we feel a deep connection to this artist and have a true appreciation of her genius and talent. To add another dimension to this quirk of circumstance, how curious is it that you and I both have ties to the same university, even if you ended up at a different school yourself? You ultimately chose another path, but you were accepted here..."Fate vs. Free Will," the choices we make in accordance with and in defiance of the path "chosen" for us, is a major theme of Lost...

Ah, but I'm getting ahead of myself! I'm sure I tend to read too much into insignificant coincidences, but I can't help but find meaning in the smallest of things at times. I'm either too enthusiastically a "Man of Faith" or too skeptically a "Man of Science;" I pinball back-and-forth between viewpoints. At the end of the day, though, I'd say I'm definitely a "Man of Faith."

I've always wanted to have a "meaningful" dream that presents me with some crucial and significant prediction, revelation, forewarning, or mission. I don't believe I've experienced such a dream as of yet, but I'll be ready for it when it comes! Hmm...earlier this week, a friend of mine had a dream about someone he hadn't talked to online in two months. The very day after this dream, that person appeared on his AIM Buddy List. He was quite shocked!

Perhaps I'll have more to say later, as I try to recall the various events in my life I have ascribed a higher meaning to.

Wow! That is really an amazing coincidence.

Things like that happen to me all the time. Although I can't think of anything specific right now. haha.. This is a really great thread idea!

A non-regina-related odd coincidence:

So we had this test in physics. Me and some classmates stayed in school and studied for hours two days straight, just to get it into our reluctant heads. (btw. I hate physics! uuurgh) and it was all over my mind, and I didn't want to hear anything more about physics 'til the test the next morning.

So I get home. Turn on the TV. Oh. Miami Ink. And a girl getting a tattoo that says F= m*a and a space ship! (force equals mass times acceleration) A physics related tattoo?! it followed me! I have never seen anyone get a tattoo like that, and I see it the night before my test. hah! It's like the world told me to study some more :P

^^ Spoooooky. Physics, yuck!

Okay so I don't know how I forgot to tell you all this in the "First time seeing Regina" thread but this all happened after I saw her perform in Atlanta. I was in the backseat of my friends car and we are driving real late at night on the highway, all of the billboards are lit up and the neon signs are on. I look out the window and focus on reading random words in different signs and billboards, thinking about how amazing the night was and my love for Regina. No lie, the first 8 words I saw were related to Regina songs. (after seeing them I remembered the words and saved em in my phone as a draft)

"Corporate"
"Fidelity"
"Happy"
"Wasteside"
"No One"
"Hair"
"Left"
"Making"

As you can imagine, I was freaking out at the irony of it all. Literally, I would go from sign to sign and read a word and these were the words I read.

Destiny in action. Regina was meant to play a massive role in your life, and the ultimate payoff of this very likely remains to be seen.

Similarly, on no less than four occasions have I started playing a song in my head (A different song each time)...only for it to end up as the next song on the car radio. I think occurrences like these are friendly little reminders from the "Powers That Be" that we are indeed being watched over and guided to where we're supposed to be...their more important actions are always more untraceable and well-masked.

I've had strange occurrences happen on days that I was supposed to see Regina.
Two out of the five times that I've seen Regina, the power went out before I left. One of these times, my sister called the electric company to see how long they thought it would take for them to fix it, and they said specifically, 11:11AM.

On the day of the Beacon Theatre show, me and my Mom went to the infamous Ice Cream cone to get pictures with it. After taking the pictures, I got a look at one of them, and, above my head, it read "Sugar Free" on the window of the candy store behind me. The reason this is significant is because, on xbox live, my username is SF Armored Bear. The SF in my name stood for Special Forces but me and my friends would joke around saying that it actually stood for Sugar Free.

Those are really something! I find the 11:11 reference especially compelling...it's just like the Lost numbers!

Another strange thing about the 11:11 occurrence is that the electric company doesn't usually give specific times for the power to come back on. O.o

Also, while we're talking about the Lost numbers, I keep seeing 108 places! I've mainly seen it on clocks though...

It's kind of like after I saw The Number 23 or whatever that movie was called, I kept seeing the number twent-... wait a second.. 23 is in the Lost numbers isn't it. Shite.

yaay i have one!

so my friend was having guy trouble, and i was saying that not every relationship you put a lot of stick into works out the way you always considered inevitable.. i used the example of my old best friend Caitlin (some of you probably remeber me posting about our falling out a while ago).. i talked about how we'd been inseperable, then simply changing our surroundings affected our relationship dramatically. I cried a little bit but got my friend laughing, and then my dad called.

We talked for a few hours (now that i had effectively bummed myself out about caitlin Roll Eyes ), and he brought up Cait. he said i shouldn't hold my breath for her to come back, because i'll just wind up being bitter and touchy, when she'll really need me to be a friend.

NEXT DAY
i'm walking around at lunch, and i see caitlin sitting with her new friends. i didn't say anything and was going to just walk past, when she waved me over (this would be our first conversation in months)

so we discussed our plans to see New Moon together (Twilight saga; don't judge), and she asked if i was going home with her on the weekend.. we wound up talking about three times that day...

i think that's a pretty weird coincidence: one night i'm all broken up about it, crying and everything. the next day, she strikes up a conversation with me.....

She won't make a sound, alone in this fight with herself and the fears whispering if she stands, she'll fall down.

So stand in the rain...

On 25th December 2001, I landed at JFK airport in New York for the first time, hoping to have a life changing event. Things didn't work out quite as planned, but ...

Years later, I order Regina's 'Songs' album and check the cover. Guess what city the record was recorded in, and on what date Cool

* * *
"Who would write such a song?!"

We beat them up against each other...
We struck them hard against each other...
We struck them so hard, so hard, until they sparked
