not likely. she may mention it in passing but she doesn't need to. she's not making a political platform.

I don't understand why people get uppity when celebrities state their opinions on politics. They're people too, they're allowed to have opinions just like you and I. Not every celebrity who expresses an opinion is trying to manipulate his or her fame to make people agree with him or her.

Ah, you only say that because 99% of celebs are lefties and you agree with them. If it were the other way around, you would be screaming for them to STFU.

OMG, I actually agree with you on something.... on this. It's true.

I'm not for national healthcare mostly because it is a fact that in every country that has it, it ends up rationing its services to people (picking the young to recieve care ahead and instead of the elderly or sick). Not to mention the long waits for even a simple physical...

But I digress, we really shouldn't bring up politics on the forum. Touchy subject, especially when it would be maybe 4 vs. everyone else. Let's just spread our love for a girl named Regina Spektor Smiler

What country are you talking about??? You've got it the other way around - the problem is that waiting rooms are stuffed with elderly who demands attention. The solution is commercialization - old people have less money, once they have to pay for extra care they suddenly don't need it. In the other system the sick can't seek help because they're uninsurable, the solution is "free" healthcare.

I agree that politics doesn't belong here - I'm not stating my opinion I'm merely pointing out a factual flaw in your logic.

Unless you're willing to talk about why costs in health care are high - then you're just a Democrat party hack!

Wink

What's even more funny is that congress already gets and will continue recieving different healthcare coverage than us- at the taxpayers expense. Enough to make you sick isn't it? typical politicians.

way to be respectful, man. how about calling it by it's actual name, the DemocratIC party. So you're one of those...

but anyway, I agree with appt. i see no one in England or France complaining about their freakin socialist dirty commie health care systems (see here, for just one example). And we already ration care. Ever heard of preexisting conditions? We already have death panels. irony!

and this is a good list to look at: the World Health Organization ranks health care systems like this:

1. France
18. England
36. Costa Rica
37. USA
38. Slovenia
39. Cuba!!!

so we're doing good!

/politics.

i also agree with reginaoverdose that we shouldn't be really discussing politics here (i think that's in the rules somewhere...) so i'll post this and be done with it! yeah!

THE END. Yes, let's stop this because I am so tempted to continue arguing about the long lines those countries face. And the fact that no one can name a single gov agency that runs efficiently. The DMV anyone? Ok, Ok, I'll stop, I'll stop.

But you can weigh out the differences here while I FREAK OUT BECAUSE I'M GOING TO GET TO SEE REGINA FOR THE FIRST TIME!!!! Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin
